Tell Sacramento that you want high-speed rail!

The nation’s first high-speed line is being built in California, and it will transform travel throughout the state. The project will serve as the backbone of an integrated network of trains and buses, giving California the best public transit system in the country.

In order for this to happen, California lawmakers have to fully commit to completing the project. That means releasing $4.2 billion in funds that voters already approved in a referendum. This funding will go towards completing the initial Central Valley segment, setting the stage for federal funds to get the mountain crossings underway and modernize commuter rail in Los Angeles.

The California Legislature will make this decision soon, and it’s critical that the state lawmakers hear from their constituents in California.

Please tell your Assembly member and Senator that you want high-speed rail.

California high-speed rail has already driven critical advancements in safety standards, planning procedures, and other policies for the country. It is the only project under construction. And soon, California will be the only state to have full environmental clearance for a 500-mile route.

I urge you to vote to release the remainder of voter-approved funds for California's high-speed rail project.

High-speed trains will transform travel throughout California. They will serve as the backbone of an integrated network of trains and buses that will give California the best public transit system in the country.

This can only happen if you vote to fund the system.

It is time to stop slow-walking this project. In fact, it is time to speed it up, so that we can all begin enjoying the tremendous benefits these trains will bring. Please work to:

1) Get high-speed trains running at 200+ mph before 2030.

2) Start construction work underway on the Pacheco Pass and Tehachapi Pass crossings.

3) Upgrade Metrolink with the most advanced, electrified trains.

In addition to all the benefits that high-speed rail can provide to travelers and our economy, California can only meet its climate-action goals by combining the efficiency and appeal of high-speed trains with expanded public transit.

Please work to make this a reality.
